Edward Snowden: Traitor or Hero?  posted by homer2000

Answer: Edward Snowden is a hero. It's the government that needs to be tried for unlawfully spying on its citizens. We the people need to keep a close eye on the corrupt government, and not a close eye on innocent civilians. I too do not want to live in a society where the government spies on its people. Leave this man alone. The government is not above the law. Go after the corrupt government.

The United States is losing the War on Terror.  posted by homer2000

Answer: Yes, The United States is losing the war on terror. As you can see in the above graph, there are far more innocent lives lost, and for what? oil? money? power? Being a terrorist in a war on terror contradicts itself. It's like using gasoline to put out a fire. It will only fuel more anger in the hearts of men, and create more war. It's been over 11 years, and the war has cost so much money, it put the United States in an economic collapse and many Americans out of jobs. Surely there are other methods to war on terror. This is clearly an act of terrorism. Stop the war of terror on "terror." There will be no benefits from this war.

Social networking technologies will bring about great changes in educational methods, in and out of the classroom.  posted by homer2000

Answer: Yes, social networking technologies will bring about great changes in educational methods, in and out of the classroom. The internet and social networks is a great technology to share ideas and knowledge to anyone with access to the internet. While social networks may be used for pleasure, such as in games, there are educational benefits of social networks as well, and not just the big ones, such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, and so on. Students can contact the teacher, search for information he or she is seeking in books searchable online, watch documentaries on YouTube in regards to what he or she is studying, share notes with fellow classmates, and the list keeps going. There is still lots of potential for internet developers to develop websites / apps to help students with education, in and out of the classroom. The only Con I see, is being distracted from studies by using these social networks outside of study, which is up to the student to decide if he or she wants to, such as in games and chatting around. Students should be also thought to properly utilize these social network tools for education, rather than waste time playing around and missing out on education. I see great potential in the internet for the present and future of education around the globe for all, such as online classes.

Should education be offered to all for free, including higher education?  posted by homer2000

Answer: Yes, Free education for all! The world is in vital need of an educated population. For instance, some people are afraid of losing jobs because machines will replace their jobs. We need more engineers (education required) to build machines, so people may take on more challenging roles advancing human civilization. From the sounds of it, not having a free education seems as a Plutocracy, where only the rich have access to. With free education, it will make all our lives much easier and the world a better place.

Should hemp be made legal?  posted by homer2000

Answer: Yes, Hemp should definately be made legal. Here's why: Hemp can't get you high unless it is the size of a telephone pole. Hemp is not to be confused with marijuana. hemp, Cannabis sativa [Credit: John Kohout/Root Resources]plant of the genus Cannabis (family Cannabaceae) that is cultivated for its fibre (bast fibre) or its seeds, which contain about 30 percent oil and may be eaten. Hemp is sometimes confused with the cannabis plants that serve as sources of the drug marijuana and the drug preparation hashish. The first American flag was made from Hemp. The Declaration of Independence is drafted on hemp paper. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, our founding fathers, grow hemp and extol its benefits. Abraham Lincoln uses hemp seed oil to fuel his household lamps. Henry Ford builds an experimental car body made with hemp fiber, which is ten times stronger than steel. In 1957, Hemp is last grown in the U.S. due to government confusion over hemp and drug varieties of the plant, while new government incentives for industry replace natural fibers with plastics, ultimately bankrupting key hemp processors. The benefits of Hemp are on a grand scale and can boost the U.S. economy, as the U.S. climate is perfect for growing Hemp. The legalization of Hemp does not have to be the legalization of Marijuana or Hashish. Hemp also has many health benefits, being that it is rich in vitamins and minerals. Hemp has the potential to replace all major non-renewable raw materials. Hemp fibre is stronger and more versatile than any other plant derived fibre, including cotton and wood. Hemp could also potentially replace petroleum products including plastics. Deforestation is occurring at around 3% per year, and hemp is a far superior resource since it can be grown to maturity in 100 days. Hemp paper is far stronger and durable than paper made from trees. Why keep hemp illegal? The only reason I see keeping hemp illegal is because some corporations will lose profits from hemp. But why fear hemp? Change the business model to benefit from hemp, and all people are happy, making the environment better, saving money, and using it to create great products that can last lifetimes.

End the Federal Reserve  posted by homer2000

Answer: The Fed must be put to an end. For one, it is unconstitutional. See Constitution in sources. The Fed is depleting the U.S. economy. "The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. 10 Years Later, Was the Iraq War Worth It?  posted by homer2000

Answer: "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting." ― Sun Tzu "Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win" ― Sun Tzu "What is essential in war is victory, not prolonged operations." "There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare." ~ Sun Tzu Not at all. Innocent lives taken away, people suffering, and the war is still ongoing, making people infuriated, ready to retaliate; and all for what? profits? The economy has crashed, people losing jobs, and education is declining. The war was not worth it. Only the greedy rich benefit from this war. "Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind." John F. Kennedy
